Cracow, 6 th November 2016
Thank you very much for the submitted pre-registration. Our idea of the conference was met with great interest and more than 160 Humboldtians and 60 young researchers have already registered. Together with the invited lecturers and accompanying persons it gives approximately 300 participants from 30 countries.
Among many distinguished guests who confirmed their participation are: Prof. Jean-Marie Lehn – the Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry in 1987, Professor Helmut Schwarz, the President of the Humboldt Foundation and Professor Joachim Sauer from Humboldt-Universität in Berlin. We also expect Dr. Enno Aufderheide and of course Dr. Heinrich Pfeiffer for whom we organize the jubilee.
We have recently sent the formal application and a request for support to the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and we hope to receive a positive decision from January to February 2017. Afterwards we will inform all of you about the detailed conditions of the participation.
Due to a big number of participants we may be forced to introduce a small payment. If so, we will let you know in another message.
More than 50 Humboldtians are ready to present the lecture. Many thanks for your readiness but unfortunately it will not be possible to accept all the proposals as plenary lectures. Due to such a big number of the declared presentations the scientific committee will select the submissions with respect to the scope of the conference and will suggest you another form of presentation i.e. a short section communicate, a poster or a possibility of editing the short texts in a special conference book. We will let you know about the decision in the next announcement which we are planning to send you at the end of January 2017.
Other current messages are published on the web page of the conference: www.limitsofknowledge.edu.pl
