The conference organizers expect active participation of the invited young researchers in all the events of the conference, especially in the poster session.

The oral and poster sessions will provide an opportunity for young researchers to demonstrate their work and gain feedback from experienced researchers.

Poster dimensions should be 1300 mm×1500 mm (i.e. A0, vertical orientation). Posters should be put up before 3 p.m. on Thursday (22nd June) in the foyer of the AGH Aula, where they will be exhibited till 1 p.m. on Sunday 25th.

The poster session will be held on Saturday 24th June. During poster session authors should stand by their posters, so that they can explain their work and answer questions from the audience.

The authors should prepare in advance a short (5 minutes for humanites, 4 minutes for life and natural sciences) oral presentation of their poster, which will be delivered during the oral session to the panel of judges of the poster competition.

The presentation should be given in either English or German.

The aim of the session is to create opportunity for young scientists to present their own research achievements, get to know the circle of humboldtians and to encourage them to prepare applications for a scholarship of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

We plan to invite 20-30 young scientists – PhD and PhD-students (in exceptional cases also outstanding students) to participate in the session. The participants will be selected in the competition procedure by the scientific committee of the conference from among the candidates recommended by humboldtians or the members of other Polish scientific societies.

The selection will be based on the candidate’s scientific achievements and the abstract of planed presentation. Its content should reflect the research interests of the candidate. The accepted candidates will be invited to take part in the conference and
expected to be active in the conference.

Qualified participants of the Young Researchers Session are exempted from the conference fee and will get free accommodation in dormitories in double rooms. Organizers do not cover their travel costs.

Those who were not qualified may participate in the conference on general rules.

The candidates are kindly asked to pre-register immediately but not later than on October, 31st 2016. When filling the registration form the status of the participant: ”a young researcher” should be given and a preliminary title of planned presentation should be provided.
